Dr. Lucas Wiegand is one of Florida's leading reconstructive urologists, offering advanced surgical and non-surgical solutions for urethral stricture, neurogenic bladder, incontinence, urologic fistulae, and cancer survivorship care.
Reconstructive urology is a highly specialized field. Many patients arrive after years of misdiagnosis, incomplete treatment, or the lasting effects of cancer therapy. Dr. Wiegand's practice is built around exactly these complex, often under-served cases.
"I do not rush to surgery. I take the patient's entire situation into account before providing any treatment advice."
Every patient receives a comprehensive evaluation before any treatment decision is made.
Dr. Lucas Wiegand earned his medical degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and completed his urology residency across four distinguished institutions: Tampa General Hospital, the James A. Haley VA Hospital, the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.
He then pursued a highly competitive fellowship in Reconstructive Urology at Washington University in St. Louis, training at Barnes Jewish Hospital — one of the country's premier programs for complex urological reconstruction.
Dr. Wiegand is board certified by the American Board of Urology and serves as a proctor for Intuitive Surgical, helping train other surgeons in da Vinci robotic technique. He performs surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center and Orlando Surgery Center.
His focus areas include urethral and ureteral stricture disease, neurogenic bladder, incontinence and voiding dysfunction, urologic fistulae, and urologic trauma. He brings a particular depth of experience to patients navigating the long-term urologic effects of cancer treatment.
Even if you choose to proceed with care elsewhere, a consultation with Dr. Wiegand can provide clarity and confidence. He regularly sees patients for second opinions on urethral stricture repair, robotic procedures, and complex reconstructive cases.
A one-time consultation can confirm your diagnosis, clarify your options, and ensure you're choosing the right approach for your specific anatomy and history.
